CURRENT RESEARCH
The current research falls into 2 categories. First, investigations are addressing the safe application of manufactured nano objects (MNOs) in agriculture, including the use of nanoscale objects for environmental remediation. Furthermore, there are active investigations being conducted focusing on micro/nano plastic accumulation, toxicity, effects on climate relevant gases and trophic transfer in the food chain. In addition, parallel work is being conducted on the fate and effects of emerging chemical pollutants on soil biota and food crops.
PAST RESEARCH
The focus was largely on nanotoxicology, which emphasize the fate and effects of manufactured nano objects (MNOs) on biota, including plant, and earthworm. The reported results significantly contributed to the understanding the risk assessment of MNOs on soil organisms bearing agricultural and environmental significance. In addition, past work also focused on environmental impacts of estrogens on environment health.
