The Graduate School (GRADUATE School) of City University of Hong Kong (CITYU) shenzhen is an extension of cityu in China. It was fully funded by City in 2001 with the mission of nurturing innovative talents who are leading the world and promoting rapid socio-economic development.

Since the completion of the industry-University-Research Building in 2011, the Institute has developed rapidly, with 18 R&D centers and specialized laboratories, including 3 state key laboratories and shenzhen R&d Platform of engineering Center, and 5 Shenzhen key laboratories. Over the years, the Institute has undertaken more than 800 national, provincial and Hong Kong research projects, such as the National 973 and 863 Programs, major research programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key joint projects of Guangdong and Hong Kong, major industrial technology research projects of Shenzhen, and Innovative science and Technology projects of Hong Kong. He has published more than 1,000 papers on world-class academic journals such as Nature and Science, obtained a number of patents, and produced a number of outstanding scientific and technological achievements. Many of his research and development achievements have been supported and awarded by the state and the Governments of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Including state Technological Invention Award, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, Hong Kong Industry and Commerce Science and Technology Achievement Award, Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Award, Shenzhen Natural Science Award, etc.

With the implementation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development Plan, CITyu Research Institute will have greater development space in the mainland and make more outstanding contributions to the society.
