We live in a fictional world, where you can easily find every strange idea in a movie. That is why everyone knows the concept of a mermaid and the features of Water Fairy shown on the big screen by film directors.

Mermaids

Mermaids are aquatic, imaginary creatures with the upper body of a human female & lower like a fishtail. A stunning beautiful half-girl half-fish creature with long beautiful flowing hair had very different people’s opinions.

Merman

The male version is known as Merman. The idea of Merman is present in ancient books and figures. But they are very less discussed. Collectively they are called Merfolk.

SelkiesThe Scottish word “Selkie” means “grey seal.” A creature that sheds its seal skin and can transform into a human, you can say that Silkie is a mermaid-like being that can transform into a human.  In Scottish folklore, there is a story of a man stealing selkie’s skin and their marriage named “Selkie wife and human lover.”

The idea of converting their fins into legs and converting from aquatic creatures to human beings is presented in an animated movie: “Luca.”

What different folklores say

This legendary and mysterious creature appears in different folklore. In many folk tales, the mermaids appear as living creatures. People believed that they had deity-like powers within them. They may be associated with storms, shipwrecks, and floods. While other stories describe them as favorable to humans, stories like Man-Mermaid love also exist.

The tales describe them as beautiful living beings with magical powers. They are not immortal, but they were considered supreme beings. Some story stories even say that they had no souls. Fantasy writer even says that they were the wives of giant sea dragons.

The Mermaid symbolizes the life in water and the female fertility provider. In some opinions, they signify storm, flood, destruction in the sea and death.

Mermaid fossil

In the Pacific Ocean, a fisherman caught a mysterious mummified creature off the Japanese island of Shikoku between 1736 and 1741. That 12-inch mummified mermaid has a head and upper body similar to a human with a fish-like tail. It presently resides at an Asakuchi temple.

Now scientists at Kurashiki University of Science and Arts are doing research on this 300-year-old mummy. They have taken him out of the temple for a CT scan.

A report published in The Independent says, “The strange creature could have religious significance.”

It remains to be seen whether this research will be able to introduce us to Mermaid life or not.

Is water fairy real?

The actual question is that are they real? Considerable ancient information says that they are because pictures of Half-human Half-fish are present throughout history.

There have been reports of people saying that they have seen a woman-like creature combing their hair.

And think about it. How did the idea of a Half-human Half-fish come to people’s minds? They must have seen something that would make them imagine a character like this.

So, I think we have an unresolved question right now about which we can’t say whether it is true or not.
