Noman Shakoor, a doctoral candidate at the China Agricultural University Beijing, made efforts to overcome the Iron (Fe) deficiency problems globally affecting over 2 billion people via inducing disability and anemia. Given this, practical efforts have been made to improve the optimum amount of Fe in the diet to overcome the adverse effects of Fe deficiency in humans.
Many leading young scholars, including Dr. M. Adeel, were involved in this project, proposed the solution to overcome the iron deficiency using salad foods like cherry radish. The content of Iron significantly increased by 104% and 91%, with the application of Fe3O4 and FeO(OH) nanomaterials at 100-200 mg kg-1 dosage. Furthermore, Nano Cherry has a higher amount of essential and non-essential amino acid vital for normal body growth and development. Interestingly, Nano Cherry have higher amount of “Vitamin C” content that is essential for “Sex viability” and normal body growth.
Dr. Adeel and Noman are harvesting the Cherry radish in a greenhouse of china agriculture university, Beijing, China.
