Position:

Department of Biology
University of Saskatchewan
Laboratory of Chris Ambrose, faculty profile here.

Project:

The project investigates the mechanisms underlying the cellular basis of plant growth and development. Specific focuses are cell division, cell expansion, cell shape determination, and differentiation. We approach these areas from the viewpoints of cytoskeletal (microtubules, actin), cell wall, endomembrane trafficking, and cell-cell adhesion.
The project will involve microscopy and image analysis, molecular-genetics, molecular biology,
biochemistry and growth assays. We use primarily Arabidopsis thaliana as the model system.

Qualifications:

Prefer applicants with master’s degree in biology (cellular, molecular, genetic, biochemistry expertise). Experience with Arabidopsis in particular would be highly valued.
Starting date:
September 2022
