About position
There is an opening for a 3-year position of a Research Assistant (Postdoc) in full time. The Experimental Polymer Physics group at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg Germany) investigates the properties, the icroscopic structure and the crystallization process of semicrystalline polymers. As xperimental methods we mainly use different X-ray scattering techniques, AFM, mechanical testing, rheology and calorimetry. More information can be found on ttp://www.physik.uni-halle.de/fachgruppen/polymer_physics_group/.
Project:
Within the framework of a Chinese-German collaborative project we plan to investigate the relation between the semicrystalline morphology and intracrystalline molecular dynamics on the one hand and the (nonlinear) mechanical properties of semicrystalline polymers.
Remuneration will be up to pay group 13 TV-L, depending on the assignment of tasks and fulfillment of personal requirements.
Work Tasks:
– Carrying out research tasks in the German-Chinese DFG project ‘Mechanical properties of semi-crystalline polymers: fundamentals in microscopic structure and molecular dynamics’.
– Presentation and publication of research results
– Participation in scientific project management
– Guidance of undergraduate and graduate students in research tasks
– Participation in teaching tasks and general tasks of the group.
Requirements:
– Completed studies in physics, chemistry, polymer science or material science
– Completed doctorate
– Previous knowledge in experimental polymer physics and/or relevant experimental experience (X-ray scattering, mechanical measurements and testing)
– Experience with the preparation of scientific publications
– Committed, independent and goal-oriented working style
– Willingness to collaborate within the group
– Willingness to engage in international project work incl. travel activities
Application deadline:
