Introduction to the tutor

Rui Yao, Ph.D., special researcher, associate professor, doctoral supervisor, deputy Director of Equipment Institute, Department of Mechanics, Tsinghua University. He has been engaged in the field of cell 3D printing and regenerative medicine for 17 years since 2005. Research Features: To expand 3D printed seed cells from traditional animal cells and immortem cell lines to human-derived stem cells, based on the research direction of “3D printing of stem cells and organ regeneration”, to reveal the influence of engineering factors such as manufacturing, materials and structure on the fate of stem cells and the formation of organ functional units. To develop highly bionic, multi-scale and stabilized construction techniques for artificial organ units, and realize in vitro reconstruction of human organ units and reconstruction of key physiological functions.

Published 50 papers, total citations 2228 times, H factor 20. As the first author and corresponding author, he published 20 SCI papers in Biomaterials, Small, Nano Energy, Biofabrication and other important journals, including 13 papers in Q1 region, 12 papers IF>10, 8 papers cited more than 100 times, and the highest single paper cited 415 times. The research work has attracted wide attention, and 10 of the papers of the first author and corresponding author are covers, highlights and highly cited papers. 17 invention patents have been authorized and 17 domestic and international patents have been applied. He has presided over 5 national projects, including one national Key RESEARCH and development Program (Chief Young Scientist), one national nature/youth/international cooperation and exchange program, etc. Presided over and undertook 4 technology development projects entrusted by enterprises and institutions. He is an expert of the key special budget of the 14th Five-Year Plan, a standing member of the Branch of Cell Engineering and Genetically Modified Organisms of The Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and a member of the Branch of Advanced Manufacturing of Biomaterials of the Society of Biomaterials.

Brief introduction of the research group

The research group is committed to creating a young, energetic, self-controlled team capable of biting hard bones and solving real technical problems. We encourage students to speak freely and discuss valuable and cutting-edge scientific research from different academic backgrounds, creating a relaxed communication environment for students with innovative thinking and various creative ideas. The research background covers cell printing, regenerative medicine, stem cells, organoids, organ chips, biomaterials, micro-nano manufacturing, gene editing, drug research, toxicology research and simulation, etc. One postdoctoral fellow is employed as a faculty member of cas.

Recent research focuses on (1) engineered stem cell amplification, (2) complex microphysiological system based on organ microarray, (3) directed differentiation and print adaptation of pluripotent stem cells, and (4) complex in vitro organ regeneration, functional remodeling and application. Due to the research needs, we plan to recruit 2-3 postdoctoral and research assistants. This recruitment notice is valid for a long time.

• Background in pluripotent stem cells, tissue engineering, biomaterials, pharmacology, toxicology, molecular/cell biology, biomedical engineering or related fields;
• Applicants should be under the age of 35 who are about to or have obtained a doctoral degree, and the duration of obtaining a doctoral degree should not exceed 3 years; Doctoral degree holders from top 100 or double first-class universities in the world are preferred;
• Have strong interest in interdisciplinary research such as cell 3D printing and organ regeneration, and publish high-quality research papers as the first author;
• Love scientific research, bear hardships and stand hard work, have strong sense of responsibility, organization and coordination ability and team spirit, obey the overall work arrangement of the team;
• Have solid professional knowledge and rich experimental experience, good English communication, reading and writing skills.

• Master degree or above with research experience in cell biology, stem cells, biomaterials, tissue engineering and biomedical engineering;
• Background and experience in pluripotent stem cells, biological 3D printing, drug screening and tissue/organ chips is preferred;
• Publication or acceptance of academic papers is preferred;
