We received the wedding invitation from our dear friend to attend her wedding in Dongguan, China. It was a bit surprising to receive the invitation in COVID times as the neighboring city was in lockdown but still we promised to attend the wedding. We love to share our experience and photo galleries for a Chinese hybrid marriage. We call it hybrid as it was a mix of Chinese traditional marriage and western culture.
Overview
The marriage ceremony was arranged in a farmhouse and it was at the surrounding hubs of the city. The atmosphere was pretty romantic with a full moon to start the new journey of life or to onset some new stories (Eye to Eye).
Reception
Reception was very artistically decorated and invitation cards about all the guests were displayed. Beautiful thoughts of Groom and Bride pasted on the invitation cards welcome us.
Starting Activities
All the guests seemed happy and equally excited but a bit reluctant to mix up. Our host has planned a number of activities to melt the ice and for initiation of communication between the guests. We were provided with a card and asked to perform 6 activities out of 8 to enter the hall. This practice made us familiar with each other and we felt that we were all our school mates or at family meetings after such a long time.
Opening Ceremony
College mate of the bride was the host and she briefly introduced the family members and guests of both sides. There were very emotional scenes involving both sad and happy faces. Keeping the story short, the groom and bride kissed each other and all the close participants went to the stage one by one. The most interesting part was the invitation and entrance of two cute dogs on the stage to show their happiness. Surprisingly both dogs follow the entry path of other guests and appear in a disciplined fashion.
Group Photo
All guests were called on the stage to have a group picture.
Dinner
Dinner was arranged in the open space. The background music, full moon and yummy food make the party more memorable.
Night music party
After dinner party was also on the menu and all the young souls enjoyed it. Surprisingly a Pakistani song was also on the list and we were asked to sing it. Most of the participants dance and sing.
